Worship Music, Because What You Listen To Matters ...Worship music is not just for Sunday mornings in the local churches and, with our music reviews on this page, we hope to help you to find the best Christian music available. We will also give you a heads up as to what new music is on the way. Most of us probably haven't stopped to think about it but the type of music that we listen to can have a huge impact on our Christian walk. We are told in Proverbs to "guard your heart" and we are told how important it is. Part of that guarding is to guard what you listen to because what enters the body through the ears affects the state of your heart. When you are having a tough day, you can stop and spend a little time in worship with music. It can help to remind you that God is in control and you can be assured that He works for the good of those who love him.With the wide variety of unholy things that we are bombarded with each day, it is more important than ever that we guard what we allow to enter our hearts through our ears. We are told in Phillipians 4:8, in the Holy Bible, to think about things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or praiseworthy. BEAUTIFUL YOU by Rita Springer is a great cd for personal worship time. The track I HAVE TO BELIEVE is just amazing and can really serve to build you up and help you to remember God's promises. The passion and honest worship that she displays in this project is refreshing. HOME by Nathan Tasker takes us on a wonderful journey in worship. With LOVE IS THE COMPASS the artist reminds us of 1 Corinthians 13 and the fact that we are to be guided by love in all matters. God is love and to follow Him we must walk in love. The title track HOME reminds us of the words of Peter (in 1 Peter 2:11) and the fact that this world is not our home and in the end we know we will be going to our real home. Our real home is a much better place! The LOVE ME AS I AM track reminds us of Paul's words (in Ephesians 2:8) that it is by faith in Jesus Christ that we are saved and not of ourselves. God truly does love us as we are and then He gives us the ability to become who we were designed to be! INVISIBLE EMPIRES by Sara Groves can best be described as a reminder to slow down and wait on the Lord. This cd is highly recommended for those of us who may be so busy serving the Lord that we forget who we are serving. But, when we slow down and listen to God, He is there waiting and will provide the strength and the resources to accomplish His purposes. The I'LL WAIT track reminds us that we have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide us in every step of our lives. We can try to do all sorts of things (like the song says) but without the guidance of God it is worthless. Sometimes we just have to wait on the Lord. OPEN MY HANDS is a wonderful song that reminds us that God only wants the best for those of us who are His children and EYES ON THE PRIZE is a remake of an old tune that keeps us focused on what matters instead of what we see right here and now. WITHOUT LOVE reminds me of Galatians 5 and the fact that all of the fruit of the Spirit comes out of one basic fruit and that is love. As this song reminds us and the scriptures tell us I can do many things but without love they are nothing. GOD'S NOT DEAD from the NEWSBOYS and Inpop Records is a very good worship cd if you love pop/rock music. The album brings their energy to some familiar songs as well as some new songs. The title track is an awesome way to begin worship and to prepare your heart to listen to the rest and truly worship. It shares the same message that Paul shared with the Corinthian church in 1 Corinthians 15 and as he said, in verse 19, "If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men." (NIV translation) I must warn you though that, after you listen to this track, the lyrics will probably be playing in your head for quite awhile and you may even want to roar like a lion. The track I AM SECOND is sure to be a smash hit and may bring you to tears or have you shouting the chorus at the top of your lungs. It has two great messages that can remind us (or tell us for the first time) what our position is in Christ. The first message to me was that, when I come to Christ, there is no compromise in that I am to give Him everything (I AM SECOND). The second message to my heart was in "He's second to none". This served to remind me that, when I give it all to God and assume my position as number two, He can handle it! After all "He's second to none"! If you are down, this song will be used to lift you up. If others are pushing you down, this song will remind you that, through Christ, you are better than that. The entire cd clearly proclaims the message of the gospel and will get your blood to pumping. This is some serious worship music! ECHOING ANGELS and their self titled cd can really be uplifting especially for those of us who have been through some trials. You can almost feel the struggle that the band went through and how the cd speaks through that experience. The track SAY WHAT YOU BELIEVE can get the blood to pumping and inspire us to really stand up for Him. GIVE YOU PEACE is a track that can encourage us in that we are reminded that God has His eye on His children and He is the source of peace. It also can remind us of what Paul said in 2 Corinthians that when we are weak God's power is shown. WAY OF LIFE is a track that reminds us that we are to be the light in this world and that we do that by demonstrating God's love. Every day! If you know of a brother or sister in Christ that has been hurting this would be a nice gift for them as well as tucking one away for when you are attacked for your WAY OF LIFE.
