Talk About The Walk, Biblical Answers To Everyday Questions...
Talk About The Walk is a place where you can get biblical answers to the situations we face every day. Sometimes it is hard for us to admit that we do not know the Bible as well as we should. Let's face it, the Bible is a very big book and covers every aspect of our lives. Therefore, anyone who tells you that they understand everything in it or knows where to find everything in it is misleading themselves and you. We will take your questions, pray for guidance, and give them to a pastor for research. The answers will be available on this site as well as on video. You can check out our video blog on the
Spirit & Truth
page. You can submit your question or topic on the Talk About The Walk form below.
Tammmy from Alabama asks: What does the Bible say about races mixing in marriage and dating. Our answer follows:
Tammy,
Thank you for visiting with us at my-christian-space.com and for your question for a pastor. In answer to your question about mixing races in dating or marriage, we find the answer in Galatians chapter 3 verses 26-29. In those verses, we are told that we are all one if we are baptized into Christ. Therefore, race does not matter when you are a follower of Jesus Christ. We thank you again for visiting with us and hope that you will return and learn more about our Savior.
Another example of what God teaches us about racism is found in
Acts chapter ten.
Another visitor asked the following question: I have been sleeping with and that is just sleeping with, not having sexual intercourse with my girlfriend for about 3 months. what does the bible have to say about that. I have bought her an engagement ring and intend to marry her in a little over 6 months. Have questions like this ever been asked? Is the answer to this question that of a cultural basis or is there real biblical support that says that what we are doing is "adultry" please if you have an answer send it to my email

I will give you the short answer here and you can check out the full answer when we get it posted. It seems that you are stuck on the notion that being married does not occur until you have a formal ceremony. There is no Biblical basis for a formal ceremony where you are magically married. That is a legal thing required by the state that you live in. The biblical pattern is that a couple agrees to live together under God's authority and according to his word. It is a committment that is binding but there is no magical paper from a government to make it happen. Thanks again for visiting with us and God bless,
