I didn't have any idea why someone would do that until I saw a sign. This sign informed everyone that by law the color purple meant "no trespassing". I immediately asked myself how we got to the point that purple (the color of royalty in the Bible) had become a sign to keep people out. I just had to shake my head as I felt that Jesus wouldn't paint the purple band on the trees.
