Word By Ten, Praising The Lord Through Interpretive Dance...Word By Ten is a ministry that incorporates dance and sign language in Christian worship. As a partner, with Enduring Freedom Ministries, the ministry takes the message of Jesus Christ out into the world. Each dance routine has a message that is shared with all as well as a lesson for the adults or children that are learning the routine. In this way, they receive the Word of God both visually and through the speaking of the Word.The ministry features many styles of dance such as ballet, contemporary, clogging, etc. It was began by Vickie Roepke at Effingham Cornerstone Christian Church. You can watch a video of her testimony which will help you to understand how the ministry came to exist. In The Bible (Romans 10:14&15) we are told that people cannot believe (and be saved) if they have not heard. We are also told that "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" Through this ministry, those who cannot hear with their ears are able to hear with their eyes and call on the Lord. Those who can see with their eyes are truly blessed as well. Vickie and the members of the teams are using their God given talents to teach others to praise Him with sign language and dance. To help you to begin a group at your local church, Word By Ten offers a free seminar. It consists of classes on Friday evening and all day on Saturday followed by your group performing during your Sunday morning service. They will bring all of the music, dance materials, and everything you will need to get the ministry started. And, the amazing part is that the members of this ministry do this for the simple fact that they love the Lord Jesus Christ. (It is free just like the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ) As part of a FreedomFest weekend, the ministry also hosts a lockin for the kids. This involves spending the night with the Word By Ten group and sharing in fun and games.
