Iran And The Bomb, The Solution To The Problem...
For years now, the world has been trying to get Iran to give up it’s nuclear ambitions. There have been attempts at economic sanctions as well as threats but these attempts are based on a lack of understanding about the government of Iran.
Since the Iranian revolution of 1979, the governing of the country has been based on the principles of velayat-e faqih and taqiya. Generally, this means that the political guardianship of the community of believers (of Islam) is by scholars trained in religious law (shariah). Specifically, the government is ran by a sect of Muslims commonly called twelvers. This is the belief that the last Imam (leader) of Islam has been hiding for many years but will return in the last days as the Mahdi. It is believed that, when there is enough chaos in the world, the Mahdi will return to spread justice (as prescribed by Islam) all over the globe. Taqiya is the doctrine of hiding one’s beliefs among non-Shia people. Because of these beliefs, Iranian foreign policy is based on creating the chaos that will trigger the return of the Mahdi.
Can you imagine anything that would create more chaos than a nuclear explosion? The President of Iran as repeatedly made comments about eliminating the country of Israel. Can you guess what the target of their nuclear weapon will be?
There is good news about this subject and a reason for hope in this situation. That hope is because of Jesus Christ and the spread of the gospel in Iran. Thousands of Iranians, who see the false holiness of the leaders, are wanting to know more about Jesus Christ. A new revolution is taking place in Iran and it is a spiritual revolution. The false teachings are being cast aside and the light of the gospel is starting to shine. The best way to stop Iran and the consequences of their bomb is through the sharing of the love of Jesus Christ.
You can learn more about the comparison between Islam and Christianity through our
