Holy Ghost deliverance Mission was founded on the 24th of January 1999 in Ifo village, Ogun State of Nigeria. It is an apostolic and prophetic ministry with the mandate of winning and building Him souls that will go forth to bear Him good fruits before the return of our Lord Christ Jesus. Enduring Freedom Ministries has partnered with them since 2008 to share the gospel in their community. Their statement of faith shows the basic beliefs of the members of this church.

The mission was started by God's annointed servant and son, Prophet Dr. Gabriel Segun Ogunjobi who remains the senior pastor. Dr Ogunjobi was born in Ayede village via Ado Odo, Ota Local Government, Ogun State of Nigeria, West Africa into the family of Elder Samuel & Deaconess Funke Ogunjobi. He was saved in 1991, baptized in Spirit in 1998, and received the ministry vision in the year 1993. Dr. Ogunjobi was licensed by the Anglican Independent World Communion and received his honorary doctorate degree in divinity from Bethel Bible Institute in the Republic of Benin in 2008. He was ordained by Star Vision Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Dennis K. Eshelman in the U.S.A. in 2009.

Dr. Ogunjobi is also the president of Nehemiah Network which is a ministerial network of ministers from various villages in Nigeria. He is also the pioneer of Gabriel Ogunjobi Foundation which provides moral & financial support to the less privileged in Ifo village as well as the contact person in Nigeria for the H.E. Wood Institute.

Praise God that He has used this ministry to win and build up many Muslims into the body of Christ. These former Muslims are now bearing fruit wherever they go. May His name be praised forever. On October 13 & 14, 2010, the well at Holy Ghost Deliverance Mission was cleaned out, dug deeper, and lined with concrete rings to keep out contaminated surface water. Just like Jesus and the Samaritan woman (John 4:10), people from the area can now come to get water and learn about the Living Water. Plans are to build a structure to support a large tank and to pump the water into the tank for the people.

Ogun State is in southwest Nigeria and is known as the "gateway state". Besides Christians, Islam is the dominant religion. About 85% of the people in Ifo village are farmers while most of the others are small traders. Clean water is one of the largest problems there and non-farm jobs are scarce unless the people go to the oil producing areas of the country. Electricity to the homes is not reliable and those that are fortunate enough have a small portable generator.
